Dear experts: How is the hydrogen gas generated as a by-product in your alkane dehydrogenation units handled? Is it purified or used directly for hydrogenation, and is there any carbon monoxide present?

Such devices are generally designed for hydrogen production via PSA adsorption, and can achieve a purity of over 99.9% as required； Many of them are used by the facilities themselves; after going through hydrogenation, if the produced amount cannot be consumed internally, it can still be sold at a reasonable price. The benefits resulting from this are far greater than those obtained by using it as fuel – it’s a shame to waste it in that way ；
The hydrogen produced by the light alkane dehydrogenation unit should have a high purity, and can be used as fresh hydrogen for the hydrogenation unit (make sure that most of the alkanes are removed). If there is no hydrogenation unit, burning it is the most economical option.
We installed our own PSA unit; 99.99% of the hydrogen produced was used for our own hydrogenation processes, while the remaining part was burned.
