Upon receiving reports of an explosion near Hebei Shenghua Chemical Co., Ltd. in Qiaodong District, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, which resulted in severe casualties, the Ministry of Emergency Management attached great importance to the matter. It dispatched Fu Jianhua, the deputy minister, to lead a working team to the scene to guide and assist local authorities in carrying out efforts to treat the injured, handle the aftermath, and conduct investigations into the accident. At 00:41 on November 28, an explosion and fire broke out near Hebei Shenghua Chemical Co., Ltd. in Qiaodong District, Zhangjiakou City. According to the investigations carried out by the police and fire department at the scene, 22 people have died, while 22 injured individuals have been taken to hospitals such as the First Hospital of Hebei North University and Hospital 251 for treatment.

I hope the injured recover soon, and that those responsible for the accident are held strictly accountable. It’s not clear what kind of hazardous materials were carried in the vehicle that exploded; was it a tank truck?
