On the evening of May 17, Qixiang Tengda issued a announcement regarding the completion and commissioning of the 100,000-ton-per-year production line in the first phase of its 200,000-ton-per-year maleic anhydride expansion project. The main contents of the announcement are as follows: Zibo Qixiang Tengda Chemical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) held the 10th interim meeting of its fifth board of directors on March 8, 2021, at which the resolution on investing in the expansion of the maleic anhydride production facility was approved. In order to further strengthen the Company’s leading position in the maleic anhydride industry, meet the growing demand for this product in the market, and enhance its competitiveness and influence within the industry, the Company plans to invest in building another production facility with an annual capacity of 200,000 tons of maleic anhydride, building on the existing facility with a capacity of 200,000 tons per year. At present, the first phase of the company’s expanded 200,000 tons per year succinic anhydride production project (100,000 tons per year, hereinafter referred to as the “Phase 1 project”) has been completed. The entire production process has been operational, and qualified products have been successfully produced, achieving a successful commissioning on the first attempt. At present, the second phase of the maleic anhydride project (100,000 tons per year) has entered the equipment installation stage, with every effort being made to accelerate the construction progress. Once the expansion project for maleic anhydride is fully completed and put into operation, the company’s production capacity of maleic anhydride will exceed 400,000 tons per year. This will enable the company to further increase its market share for maleic anhydride products both domestically and internationally, help it maintain its leading position in this industry, and also lay the foundation for the company to expand into downstream applications related to maleic anhydride.
