Sinopec, the world’s largest producer of synthetic rubber, saw an 18% increase in its synthetic rubber output

Sinopec’s synthetic rubber production increased by 18% 2025-07-28 Preliminary performance data released on July 24, 2025, show that Sinopec produced 804,000 tons of synthetic rubber in the first half of 2025, a year-on-year increase of 18.6%. Among the company’s main chemical product categories, synthetic rubber experienced the strongest growth, outpacing that of synthetic resins (which grew by 12.8%) and ethylene (which grew by 16.4%), while synthetic fiber production declined by 5.1%. Sinopec is China’s leading producer of synthetic rubber, and in 2023 it became the world’s largest producer of such rubber, with production volumes exceeding 1.8 million tons. Following Sinopec, Arlanxeo, CNPC, Sabic, and Kumho Petrochemical have become the top five companies in the world.
