On August 1, Sinochem Quanzhou Petrochemical Co., Ltd. began large-scale production of a new generation of heat-resistant polyethylene pipe materials developed using metallocene catalysts. It is reported that this material possesses excellent heat resistance and thermal stability, allowing it to be used for extended periods even under harsh operating conditions of 70°C and 0.8 MPa. At the same time, this material possesses excellent resistance to temperature fluctuations; it can remain stable in environments with alternating hot and cold conditions, and is not prone to cracking or deformation due to thermal stress. In addition, this material also possesses good flexibility, chemical resistance, and resistance to low-temperature impact. During the development process, the research team analyzed issues such as the softness of the material encountered by customers and the fact that the processing speed could only be increased to about 50 meters per minute. They precisely controlled the melt flow index during production to enhance the cohesion of the melt, and at the same time optimized the additive formulation to improve the processing properties of the product.
