Recently, the Sichuan Petrochemical Optimization and Technical Transformation Project, which is under the general contracting of Global Beijing Company, reached a key milestone: after 72 hours of rigorous performance testing, Cracker No. 9 was successfully brought online on its first attempt. This not only demonstrates once again the outstanding performance of Huanqiu Company’s proprietary ethylene patent technology in industrial upgrading projects, but also injects strong momentum into the high-quality development of Sichuan Petrochemical, paving the way for a new era of win-win cooperation. As the core equipment for this technical upgrade, the No. 9 cracking furnace utilizes core technology independently developed by Huanqiu; it is model HQCF-Ⅱ176. Its designed annual ethylene production capacity is 140,000 tons per year. It features a structure with dual radiation chambers and a common convection section. 64 bottom burners are arranged in a strategic manner, along with two-stage radiation furnace tubes and patented heat-transfer enhancement components. These elements help improve heat transfer efficiency and reaction selectivity, while simultaneously reducing the risk of coking in the furnace tubes, extending the interval between coking clean-ups, and effectively minimizing losses due to unplanned shutdowns. At the same time, the comprehensive energy consumption of this pyrolysis furnace ranks among the highest in China, and its environmental performance exceeds **standards by a large margin; it truly achieves simultaneous development of economic benefits and environmental benefits, serving as a model for green chemical production. To ensure the success of the project, before initiating ignition and fuel supply, the project team planned thoroughly and took meticulous actions to establish a comprehensive support system. Multiple rounds of specialized tests were conducted on key aspects such as the temperature control mechanism of the induced draft fans, the stability of the burner flames, and the interconnection functions of the DCS system. The furnace itself and the piping systems were carefully inspected, and strict energy isolation measures were implemented to establish a solid safety barrier from the very beginning. At 8:00 on October 15, the permanent lights of the burners were lit one after another; after 2 hours of operation, the first batch of burners was lit symmetrically to ensure even heating of the furnace tubes ; On October 16, the furnace temperature was increased steadily at a rate of no more than 30°C per hour; simultaneously, dilution steam was introduced, and online calibration of the safety valves was carried out ; At 10:45 on October 17, the ultra-high pressure steam was successfully connected to the grid, and at 14:00, the raw materials were successfully introduced into the pyrolyzer. Throughout the entire process, maintenance personnel conducted regular inspections to ensure that all parameters remained stable and under control, using their expertise and dedication to guarantee the smooth progress of the project.
