On November 21, Yangzi Petrochemical successfully carried out the pilot production of the specialized material PPH-EN00-S for industrial use in β-crystalline polypropylene for the first time. Industrial β-crystalline polypropylene (β-PP) is a high-performance polypropylene pipe material that offers significant advantages in terms of impact resistance, heat resistance, and creep resistance, while also being recyclable. In the construction industry, it can be used in water supply, heating systems, and central air conditioning systems; it features high temperature resistance, long service life, and oxygen resistance. In the industrial sector, it is suitable for applications such as the transportation of chemical substances in mines, offering corrosion resistance and high pressure tolerance. In civilian applications, it can be used in medical pipelines and for transporting pure water. In recent years, Yangzi Petrochemical has focused on the production of high-value specialty materials, actively adjusting the structure of its polypropylene products as well as the direction of technological development. Previously, random copolymerized polypropylene pipe material YPR-R503, polypropylene material with a low melt index PPH-B00-S, and polypropylene sheet material PPH-E00-S have been successfully developed, providing experience for the research, development, and production of this specialized β-crystalline polypropylene material for industrial use. During the production process, by precisely controlling the amounts of catalysts and additives added, thoroughly assessing and managing safety and environmental risks, and appropriately adjusting the production process parameters, it was ensured that the quality of the new products met the required standards.
