Recently, Yanshan Petrochemical’s 1.2 million tons per year gasoline adsorption desulfurization unit successfully passed the certification process conducted by Beijing Samsung 9000 Certification Center and received a carbon neutrality certification. It is the first such gasoline adsorption desulfurization unit in China to achieve carbon neutrality certification, providing valuable experience for the low-carbon transformation of energy-intensive units in the petrochemical industry. Yanshan Petrochemical continues to work on energy conservation and carbon reduction; it has implemented 18 energy-saving renovation projects in total, and is actively developing distributed photovoltaic power generation systems on its premises. For five consecutive years, it has been the largest user of green electricity in Beijing. The company promotes the use of technologies such as low-temperature heat recovery and the conversion of steam to electricity, formulates scientific strategies for purchasing carbon quotas, and establishes comprehensive systems for energy measurement and statistics, thereby providing accurate data to support the calculation of carbon emissions from its facilities and the assessment of emission reduction efforts. The company’s gasoline adsorption desulfurization unit boasts technical advantages such as low octane number loss, low hydrogen consumption, and low energy usage. It can offset greenhouse gas emissions and achieve carbon neutrality by utilizing green electricity and recycling low-temperature waste heat.
