News dated September 29, 2025: The first unit of the technical transformation project aimed at upgrading Qilu Petrochemical’s refining facilities – the coker liquefied gas desulfurization and dewaxing unit – began operations today. This unit is capable of processing 75,000 tons of coker liquefied gas per year. Upon completion of the project, Qilu Petrochemical’s crude oil processing capacity will increase to 16 million tons per year, its ethylene production capacity to 1 million tons per year, and the production of high-end carbon materials to 620,000 tons per year. This will facilitate the transformation of the petrochemical industry toward higher standards of quality, greater intelligence, and sustainability. On February 28, 2026, the Luyou Lu Lian project of Qilu Petrochemical reached an important milestone: the first unit’s coker liquefied gas desulfurization and denaturation unit successfully passed the mechanical completion inspection. Since the official commencement of construction on this facility last September, the project team has worked diligently to ensure thorough control over safety, quality, and progress at every stage, thereby guaranteeing that all construction tasks are completed on time and to high standards – laying a solid foundation for the smooth advancement of the project.
