Patent abstract: The present invention relates to a Ziegler-Natta catalyst for the polymerization or copolymerization of ethylene, characterized in that the catalyst contains titanium and vanadium, with a molar ratio of titanium to vanadium of 1–10:1. The Ziegler-Natta catalyst for the polymerization or copolymerization of ethylene is used in the homopolymerization of ethylene or the copolymerization of ethylene with other α-olefins. Compared with existing catalysts, this catalyst has the advantages of spherical-like catalyst particles, a narrow particle size distribution, less fine powder, good copolymerization performance, and high sensitivity to hydrogen regulation; it enables more effective control over the molecular weight distribution of polymers as well as the distribution of comonomers along the polymer molecular chains. Moreover, the production process is simple and the production cost is low. Since the beginning of this year, China National Petroleum Corporation has obtained 557 new patent approvals, a 58.69% increase compared to the same period last year.
