Dear Haiyou friends, I have an Asia-Pacific screw chiller unit and have a few questions I’d like to ask everyone. 1. During operation in the winter in the north, a low-pressure protection error keeps appearing; it only works properly after starting it several times. I don’t understand what low-voltage protection is meant to protect. It had been preheated for a day before being turned on, and the temperature felt to be in the high 20s when touched. The machine has accumulated 2,000 hours of operation. 2. I would like to use better lubricant – where is the port for adding lubricant? Is it the area marked with a circle? The machine has been in use for 2,000 hours now, and it’s been installed for 3 years; is it necessary to use better lubricant? 3. How do I replace the refrigerant? The user manual only mentions that replacement is needed, but it doesn’t explain exactly how to do it
If it has been here all along and now low-voltage protection is triggered, it indicates a hardware failure; check the temperature sensor and the heater. 2. If you move to a different location, for example from the south to the north, you definitely need to change the oil. 3. If the temperature doesn’t increase, try turning off the circulating water to see if that helps raise it. 4. When changing the oil, take a small sample first to check the viscosity; only then decide whether an oil change is necessary. 5. Is that the fuel filling port? I’ve never filled it there. In our case, we replaced the +3° drying brick and probe; nothing else has been replaced
If there is an auxiliary oil pump, manually reverse the oil pump to draw in fuel.
Help check if that is the port for adding lubricant
It’s a very small unit; what you photographed isn’t the refueling port, and the photo doesn’t show everything. The oil change port for this unit should be on the other side of the compressor. The low-pressure protection is a feature for the unit’s self-protection, and it’s related to the operating conditions at that time – factors such as a low temperature of the cooling water might have played a role. Generally, there’s no need to replace the refrigerant; simply add more if it’s running low
