What is the relationship between the thrust of the turbine rotor and the clearance of the thrust bearing? Is the value of the former necessarily smaller than that of the latter?
The latter is far smaller than the former; it should be at least about half as small! The pump is like this; this one should be the same as well! Hope this helps! Waiting for the experts’ guidance!

It seems they are not the same thing; the rotor clearance ensures that there is no sliding friction once the rotor gets hot, by at least a few millimeters. The bearing clearance is generally small, around several dozen microns.
Do you mean the relationship between the turbine rotor and the turbine thrust bearing? If so, of course, the thrust bearing limits the rotor runout to within the design range.
