Are there two types of silicon carbide for machine seals? Is silicon carbide suitable for use as a rotating ring or a stationary ring? Why does silicon carbide used for static rings appear and feel like ceramic (with a smooth surface and a slight shine), and is it prone to breaking? And the silicon carbide used for the rotating ring seems to feel like black, hard rubber or plastic (with a matte surface)? Are they two different types of silicon carbide?
