What is positional tolerance, and what is orientation tolerance?
Positioning tolerance – refers to the total amount of variation allowed for an actual feature in position with respect to a reference. It includes three aspects: coaxiality, symmetry, and positional accuracy. Directional tolerance refers to the total amount of variation allowed in direction for a given feature with respect to a datum. It includes three parameters: parallelism, perpendicularity, and inclination.
