The explosion-proof performance of intrinsically safe instruments is not achieved through external measures such as ventilation, inflation, oil filling, or flame isolation; rather, it is accomplished by the circuit itself, which is why they are intrinsically safe. It can be used in all hazardous locations and with all explosive gas and vapor mixtures, and maintenance and adjustment can be carried out while it is powered on. But. It cannot be used alone. It must form an intrinsically safe circuit together with intrinsically safe associated equipment (safety cabinets) and external wiring in order to achieve explosion-proof functionality. Its explosion protection is achieved through the following measures: 1. Using new types of integrated circuit components in the instrument circuit, allowing it to operate at lower operating voltages and currents; 2. Employing safety barriers to separate the circuits in hazardous areas from those in non-hazardous areas, thereby limiting the energy that can be transmitted from non-hazardous areas to hazardous areas; 3. Ensuring that the connection wires of the instrument do not create excessive distributed inductance and capacitance, in order to reduce the stored energy in the circuit.
