Seeking advice: Is the vibration (impact) of the crosshead in a reciprocating compressor related to oil temperature? The vibration is greater when the oil temperature is high and the oil pressure is low. Also, the impact force on the crosshead is measured in grams – is this impact considered to be a vertical vector force? What other factors could cause high crosshead vibration? handshake
There’s no need for any complicated theories; it’s sufficient to reinstall everything according to the maintenance data. Otherwise, excessive gaps will cause vibration. As for the effect of lubricant, it would not cause such vibrations.
These past few days, the crosshead impact has been high during the day and drops at night. I can’t figure it out; could someone explain what causes this crosshead impact?

I think we can give it a try – raise the oil temperature at night, or lower it during the day, and control the cooling water and oil pressure to conduct experiments and rule things out through comparison
Confirm the process conditions – what is the oil temperature?
It never exceeds 40°C; it’s usually between 32 and 36
How can one tell that the impact is high? Is there any equipment for measuring it?
The crosshead has vibration indicators, with probes for monitoring
If this is true, it is recommended to shut down the machine for inspection, checking the crosshead assembly, piston assembly, and rod assembly. This isn’t a joke.
