(Extraction steam turbine) This line is used to extract leaking air; the valve is a self-acting control valve that can adjust the opening degree of the valve leading to the condensate tank based on the leakage pressure from the steam seal. 2. Also, what is the purpose of the valve with model number 5926? (It is the inlet for the cooling water in the exhaust cylinder, coming from the outlet of the condensate pump.) This valve is used to control the amount of cooling water, thereby preventing the exhaust gas at the exit of the condensing compressor from becoming overheated or overpressured. 3. Why is it necessary to continuously drain water from the high-pressure side steam seal, while the low-pressure side only has a drain to the ground? Due to the higher pressure at the high-pressure side, the steam seal leakage is greater than that at the low-pressure side; therefore, continuous drainage is required
Article 1: Working principle of the pressure equalization tank. In fact, it has two automatically adjustable valves (capable of adjusting pressure). During normal operation, when the steam leakage from the turbine is greater than the amount of steam required by the rear steam seal, one of these valves automatically releases steam into the condenser in order to reduce emissions into the environment. The other valve, on the other hand, allows steam from the second extraction stage or an earlier extraction stage to flow into the pressure equalization tank when the steam leakage is less than the demand of the rear steam seal, thereby ensuring a sufficient supply of steam to that seal. Article 2: During the startup of the turbine, during idle operation, and at low load levels, the steam flow rate is very low; this insufficient flow rate means that it is not possible to remove the heat generated due to friction within the low-pressure cylinder. As a result, the exhaust steam temperature rises, and so does the temperature of the exhaust cylinder. Excessively high exhaust cylinder temperatures can cause significant deformation of the cylinder, disrupting the alignment of the centerlines of the rotating and stationary parts of the turbine; in severe cases, this can lead to vibration in the unit or other accidents. To this end, a water spray cooling device is installed inside the low-pressure cylinder.
