The belt of a diesel generator keeps breaking frequently, and even after replacing it with a new one, its lifespan becomes shorter and shorter. Now the new belt only lasts for five or six hours. There is a tension pulley involved, and it’s a single-strand belt with four strands in total. I would appreciate it if someone could help me figure out the reason. Thank you.

It’s also necessary to check whether there is any deformation in the grooves of the pulleys. Send a picture of the damaged belt piece. If it’s a localized damage, it’s likely a problem with the tension pulley. If the damage is uniform, check whether the load meets the process requirements. Another point is whether there is any mechanical jamming in the rotor itself. For reference.

Is it the original belt? Belts and pulleys are designed to work together. We had an issue where the belt pulley groove angle and the belt inclination were not matched, and it broke after just two months. Those produced by the manufacturer can be used for four years.
