A 60T/h MVR centrifugal compressor in our company developed a radial crack of 130 mm on the rear cover plate of its impeller during operation; the impeller had been in use for over 2 years, was of the three-dimensional flow type, and had a diameter of around 1200 mm. I am now looking for a comprehensive technical services company to analyze the causes of impeller failure. 1. What is the design of the impeller structure, what is the material chosen, and are there any issues with the material? 2. Are there any issues with the system design and actual operation? 3. Optimization suggestions? I would like to ask if anyone has any suitable organizations to recommend; thank you!
It seems they’re going to take legal action :) Otherwise, the manufacturer should have an explanation for such a situation. It’s possible to determine from the original records whether there are any signs of non-compliance with the operating procedures; if problems arise after two years, blaming design or manufacturing is really difficult to accept. Hiring a professional team to handle such matters is likely to be more trouble than it’s worth. It is best to communicate kindly with the manufacturer to resolve the issue.
To determine the cause of the crack, it is essential to check whether it is caused by medium corrosion and whether the composition of the medium matches the original design
1. Which brand is the compressor? 2 ; Are there any operation records? 3. How long has it been running, and what is the overall performance?
