Which manufacturers are currently producing multi-axis centrifugal process gas compressors? We want to replace the reciprocating compressors in the plant with multi-axis centrifugal compressors, such as those used for ammonia compression, hydrogen and nitrogen compression, and natural gas compression.
Current manufacturers of multi-axis centrifugal process gas compressors include GE (General Electric), Siemens, Atlas Copco, Elliott Group, and others. These companies possess extensive experience and offer a variety of solutions in areas such as ammonia compression, hydrogen compression, and natural gas compression. Before changing the compressor type, it is recommended to consult the relevant manufacturers to ensure that the most suitable product and technical support are chosen for your needs. .
According to incomplete statistics, there are over 10 manufacturing plants abroad that produce multi-axis compressors. The following briefly lists the main manufacturers suitable for the petrochemical industry along with the performance of their compressors‚for reference in making choices. (1) GHH company’s RG series, grades 2 to 10: imported flow rate ≤ 300×103 m3/h, pressure ratio ≤ 200, and outlet pressure ≤ 20 MPa. (2) DEMAG offers the VK, HVK, and PVK series‚with the VK series being the most common‚;with capacity ratings of 4 to 6 stages‚an imported flow rate of 7×103 to 250×103 m3/h‚a pressure ratio of ≤50‚and an outlet pressure of ≤5 MPa. (3) Atlas-Copco offers series such as GT and GT H, with stages 2 to 6; the imported flow rate ranges from 1·5×103 to 100×103 m3/h, the pressure ratio is ≤60, and the outlet pressure is ≤6 MPa. (4) Cooper Company’s MSG series, grades 2 to 6 – imported flow rate: 5·5×103 to 150×103 m3/h – pressure ratio ≤ 50. It is also possible to produce modular models with dual gearboxes for 4–12 stages of compression, in order to meet the requirements for high pressure ratios. (5) German company BORSIG: When considering between multi-axis centrifugal compressors and single-axis multi-stage centrifugal compressors.
