I know that the diameter of pipes is indicated using DN – is it the same for equipment as well? What I mentioned are storage tanks; for example, DN13500*15000 (mm). Can it be expressed that way?
That’s definitely possible; some container cylinders are made directly from steel pipes.
It’s normal to use DN to denote diameter; it’s not some strange thing, right?
Use DN, for example, the valve diameter.
In my humble opinion, large-scale equipment should come with more detailed descriptive information; of course, using simpler representations is not necessarily a violation of any rules. Just like in drawing, detailed drawings are good, but simplified drawings can also work in many cases.
There are two ways to represent the cylinder: one is Φ13500×15000 δ=……; the other is DN13500 L=15000 δ=……
DN is used as a size designation for alphanumeric combinations of pipeline system components. It consists of the letters DN and an integer dimensionless number following them. This value is directly related to characteristic dimensions such as the bore diameter or outer diameter of the end fitting. (See GB/T 1047-2005 for details)
DN generally refers to the nominal diameter of pressure vessels.
