There is a cooler: the design pressure for the shell side is 0.4, the temperature is 40, and the fluid used is water; The design pressure for this pipe train is 1.0, the temperature is 150, and the medium is air. The structure is as follows: both the left and right tube boxes are secured using flanges; the cylinder has a diameter of DN350. All flanges are custom-made, of type SW6. Which calculation module should be used for this? I previously considered calculating it as a floating head, but I felt that the calculation was incorrect; therefore, I am seeking advice from forum members on how to calculate a cooler with this type of structure Thank you!
This post was last edited by Exterminate demons and evil forces on 2017-5-2 19:01. Is the pipe plate clamped? What about the other side of the pipe end? For U-tube heat exchangers, U-tube modules can be used for calculation.

Obviously, this cooler is a stuffing box type heat exchanger sealed with O-rings.
Figure 2 does not represent a stuffing box; it appears to have a loose-flange structure, with the flange on the tube side shell being movable and adjustable
The poster’s diagram should include cross-hatching and weld lines to facilitate understanding
In Figure 2, it’s not very clear, but the tube sheet should also be fixed; otherwise, the tube sheet and the shell flange won’t be able to seal properly. So both ends have fixed tube sheets, and it should be calculated based on fixed tube sheets
