Additionally, when performing the hydrostatic pressure test for verification, is this pressure 1.25 times the design pressure?
Pc refers to the calculated pressure. During the pressure test, strength verification is carried out; of course, the test pressure is calculated accordingly.
The calculated pressure is used to determine the maximum overall film stress; when verifying the hydrostatic test strength, this pressure is the test pressure.
Stress verification involves calculating the maximum overall film stress under operating conditions; of course, the calculated pressure should be used rather than the design pressure, as the calculated pressure is the one taken into account to determine the component thickness under operating conditions, while the design pressure takes into account the hydrostatic pressure from the fluid and other additional loads. The stress calculated during the hydrostatic test takes into account only the water pressure conditions; the static pressure of the liquid column resulting from testing a vertical container in a horizontal position is an additional factor, and therefore the pressure used in this case should be the design pressure. The above is merely my personal understanding!
