Packing support ring

I’m making a tower for the first time and would like some advice. What is the structure of the packing support ring? The packing is a DN25 ceramic rectangular saddle ring, and it is required that this support ring be placed between the flanges.
Is the platform made of grating plates or something like that? ? Is this format suitable for flange butt joint?
More or less. If flange butt joint is required, a sealing surface needs to be created.
If you were to do it, for a tower with a diameter of 400, what kind of support structure would you use?
Some do not use flange clamping but are installed at the bottom of the upper tower section

Using a grid structure and placing it between two flanges is not appropriate, as it can easily affect the sealing
