The user has only provided the following technical parameters for designing a steam drum: the rated evaporation capacity of the steam drum is 16 t/h, the design pressure is 1.5 MPa, the design temperature is 240°C, and the maximum operating pressure is 1.3 MPa. Since the drum is needed to maintain the boiler’s liquid level and prevent it from running dry, a buffer time for the liquid level is also required. It is certainly possible to estimate a time, such as 4 hours, and by adding the amount of evaporation, determine the size of the steam drum; however, this method is not accurate.
