Discussion on using the same batch number for test plates of low-temperature storage tanks and tank wall plates

I just spent some time learning GB/T50938, the Technical Specification for Steel Low-Temperature Storage Tanks in the Petrochemical Industry. Sub-clause 3 of clause 8.5.6 states that \"the product test plates shall have the same furnace number as the tank wall plates.\" I really don’t understand why such a requirement exists I appreciate your advice.
Ensure that the test plate has identical mechanical properties to those of the tank wall material, to facilitate tests on the mechanical properties of the material
Why must the mechanical properties be consistent? I think it’s fine as long as it’s within the standard limits. Moreover, the wall plates of large tanks may not be from the same furnace batch, and the standards do not require a test piece to be made for each furnace batch; as a result, the mechanical properties cannot be exactly identical. Additionally, neither GB150 nor the tolerance specifications require heating in the same furnace.
