Help: Does anyone have a real product photo of the item shown in this picture? Its name is self-acting flange cover
Is this thing the hatch? On the ship.
I’ve only seen those that open quickly; I’ve never seen one with this structure.
There are now types of balancers that are commonly used in glass-lined equipment; they open on their own after the bolts are removed, and there are also those that can be positioned at a specific opening angle. It is just rare on carbon steel and stainless steel manholes.
Are there any photos of the actual item, or drawings?
Search online for “glass-lined manhole with balancer”. I don’t have the drawings; I’ve only seen them before. I’m not very good at posting pictures on this forum yet {:1_90:}

The original poster can search for Kapa metal hinges; I haven’t seen any that open automatically, but they can easily open and close manhole covers and remain in any desired position, which makes them very safe and convenient to use. The device shown in the image is an external stainless steel lined glass-lined reactor; this manway balancer is directly welded to the manway. It utilizes the torque of a spring to enable easy opening and closing, eliminating the need to lift it back and forth. This not only ensures the safety of the operators on site but also prevents other foreign objects from entering the tank. The spring has a service life of 50,000 operations, and components such as the spring can be replaced at any time.
