When performing calculations for reinforcement due to this opening, the sight glass is treated as a pipe connection and its reinforcement is calculated based on the bottom flange (outer diameter X wall thickness), which works fine. However, there are also M16 bolt holes in the sight glass, and these areas should also be considered as weak points; if all of these areas were taken into account, the reinforcement calculations would no longer be valid. Question: What do you think should be the relationship between the outer diameter and wall thickness of the sight glass? Thank you everyone! Appendix:

The effect of the stud holes on the flange’s bending capacity is negligible and can be ignored; the minimum thickness at the bottom of the groove can be used as the thickness for reinforcement through drilling.
You can try calculating it as a flat lid with an opening and no connecting pipes. The opening diameter is calculated as 100; therefore, the reinforcement area for this opening should be considered as A1. Due to the bolt force on the sight glass, it is recommended to calculate based on the reverse flange.
The height dimension of the 45-degree groove is unknown; the wall thickness can be determined by taking the average of the maximum diameter of the groove and 100. Because the thickness of the manhole cover is likely not too small, the thickness of the flange at 40 may need to be increased.
