When using SW6 to calculate reinforcement for manholes in spherical heads, when entering the data for hole reinforcement, should the nominal thickness and calculated thickness of the shell, as well as the inner diameter of the shell, be entered using the values for the cylinder or those for the head? As shown in the figure. If data for the head is entered, the calculation indicates that the internal pressure check for the shell fails; if data for the cylinder is entered, the value entered for the head automatically becomes the thickness of the cylinder during the calculation. So, how should the data be entered? There is another issue: when choosing to use a solid forged part for reinforcement, changes in the data entered regarding the structure of that solid forged part have no impact on the calculations related to tube reinforcement; in other words, whether the data are entered or not makes no difference. Why is that?

Thank you. My cylinder thickness is 232, and the head thickness is 128. What I mean is, in this table, should the inner diameter of the shell and the nominal thickness of the shell be filled in with the value of the cylinder thickness or the head thickness?
Don’t the values in that area appear automatically? Why is it necessary to enter data manually there?

According to JB4732-95, is a single forged piece of this kind the one shown below? Is it also called an embedded type? The one below isn’t a fully forged piece, right? I’m not sure what the structure of the original item is; it could be in vertical or horizontal modules, and comparing it with other components might reveal differences
In the data entry for opening reinforcement, the nominal thickness and calculated thickness of the shell, as well as the inner diameter of the shell, should be the values corresponding to the area where the opening is located; if the opening is in a head, then the relevant data for that head must be entered.
