Can the opening pressure of a safety valve be higher than the design pressure?
During a airtightness test + safety valve test – the highest allowable operating pressure is generated, which must be higher than the design pressure.
There are two scenarios: first, when the design specifies a maximum allowable operating pressure, the setting pressure of the safety valve shall not be greater than this maximum operating pressure; second, when no maximum allowable operating pressure is specified, the setting pressure of the safety valve shall not be greater than the design pressure.
