I still have a few questions, and I earnestly ask the experts for their guidance: 1. What are the differences in the applications of Q245R(R-HIC) and Q345R(R-HIC)? Is it related to factors such as design pressure, sheet thickness, and H2S content? 2. In the pipe end specification, it is required to use “ASME B16.5 WN 150-150LB RF C.S. resistant to H2S”. Then, what material should be chosen for the flange material that is resistant to H2S? How to specify material requirements? 3. What material should be chosen for the nozzles on the container?
1. Firstly, Q245R (R-HIC) has fewer welding defects than Q345R (R-HIC), which is determined by its chemical composition; price is also a factor. Most importantly, Q245R (R-HIC) offers better resistance to hydrogen-induced corrosion than Q345R (R-HIC); However, in terms of allowable stress, Q3 is superior to Q2. 2. The most important thing is hardness control, I guess. In terms of resistance to H2S stress corrosion, it is easier to control the hardness of Q245R in terms of material and manufacturing compared to Q345R.
