I would like to ask the experts here: if the medium is extremely or highly hazardous, under normal circumstances, 47023 long-neck butt-weld flanges are used for container flanges. Is there any mandatory requirement in the standards for this? Is it acceptable to use other 47022 flanges instead? The pipe flange is undoubtedly WN. . .
The requirements for equipment flanges should be stricter than those for pipe flanges; therefore, long-neck butt-weld flanges should be selected. The hazards caused by equipment leaks are greater than those caused by pipe flange leaks

Theoretically, it is feasible, but for design reasons, it is better to use long-joint butt weld flanges. Given that the pressure and temperature levels are not high, it is possible to calculate a custom-made flange to reduce costs. It’s just a bit more complicated to design
With so many accidents these days, it’s better to adopt a stricter design approach and use long-neck flanges

Since it is a key piece of equipment, it’s only fair to raise the design requirements!
It is still better to choose a high-diameter butt weld flange.
