Thought question 24: How are single-face mechanical seals and double-face mechanical seals defined and distinguished in mixers?
A mechanical seal with a single sealing surface is called a single-face mechanical seal, while one with two sealing surfaces is called a double-face mechanical seal. Double-end face seals are further divided into axial double-end face seals and radial double-end face seals.
