Dear seniors, what does a dedicated area for non-destructive testing mean when there is no testing room available?
Non-destructive testing can be commissioned to a third-party testing company
A dedicated site for non-destructive testing should have space sufficient for your manufacturing equipment, lead shielding of the appropriate thickness corresponding to your radiation capabilities, measures to prevent the leakage of radiation, electric doors, and so on.
Subcontracting does not mean that basic conditions are not required
The focus is on being dedicated and meeting protection requirements; as for whether these requirements are satisfied, it needs to be determined through testing by professional institutions.
There is no exposure room or dedicated facility for non-destructive testing; in other words, the conditions necessary for conducting non-destructive testing are not available. The testing party is required to provide an explanation of the tests conducted. It’s a well-intentioned way of pointing out problems
By ‘outsourcing it’, it means that you can assign this task to someone else, but your own facility must have a place for it – that is, an exposure room is necessary; a darkroom for developing and evaluating photos is not required. One more thing to note: even if you assign the work to someone else, you still need to have one qualified inspector in charge.
