Must the heat exchange tube extend beyond the tube sheet? It’s also fine not to extend it; it can even be below the tube sheet, as long as the pressure testing meets the requirements.
The heat exchange tubes need to extend beyond the tube sheet, or be level with it. As for what you mentioned about it being below the tube sheet, I think that’s not acceptable.
Either is fine, but it’s better to extend it; For details, see GB/T151-2014, Clause 6.6 and Appendix H
It would be better if it can withstand force and erosion.
Appendix H refers to welding; if it is expansion jointing, does it need to protrude?
According to clause 6.6.1, it is not allowed; at least 3 mm must protrude.
6.6..1.5 states that, as shown in Figure 6-18, when composite panels are used, it is advisable to… When sufficient experience is available, the structural dimensions can be adjusted appropriately. It doesn’t say that L1 must be greater than 3 ^_^
Figure 6-18 shows the dimensions of the slotted structure; the value of l1 is given in Table 6-19
Calculating the required leg height – it should not protrude; how to ensure the correct leg height. The weld leg height must be greater than the wall thickness of the heat exchange tube. If it’s not extended, what is the wall thickness of the heat exchange tube? If the selected weld leg height ensures a successful calculation. Moreover, this is only possible when the height of the weld leg is greater than the wall thickness of the heat exchange tube.
