The CAD selection box becomes dashed

Help: After running a command in CAD, for example after selecting dimensions, the pick box becomes like this; the pick points are not displayed near endpoints or intersection points, and the box no longer shows where to pick. How can it be restored?
I tried various methods but couldn’t get it back to normal, so in the end I had to reinstall it. :L
