What are the materials and types of heat transfer oil coolers that people use? The 200-degree heat transfer oil is cooled using circulating water, in an intermittent manner – sometimes it is cooled and sometimes not. There is concern that the heat exchange tubes in a fixed-tube-sheet heat exchanger may come loose due to thermal expansion, which would render such designs unreliable. Additionally, studies have shown that carbon steel heat exchange tubes are prone to oxygen corrosion. I would like to ask the experts here: Can carbon steel be used as the material for the heat transfer oil water cooler? What type of heat exchanger is recommended? It seems that this issue requires consideration of flow pressure factors; although plate heat exchangers have good efficiency, thermal stress also needs to be taken into account. If the pressure is high and the flow rate is low, could a coiled tube type be considered? For reference.
