The design pressure is 1.2 Mpa, while the test pressure is 1.8 Mpa. In accordance with GB50268, the proportion of non-destructive testing required is 10%. Is it necessary to prepare any documentation related to pressure testing before carrying out the testing? Is it sufficient to check the welding data records to ensure that the proportion of non-destructive testing meets the requirements and that all test results are satisfactory? Is it sufficient to create a test record for the water supply and drainage pressure pipelines after completing the pressure test? Is it necessary to prepare a set of pressure testing documentation according to the process pipelines?
It should be necessary; I work in the petrochemical industry, dealing with pipeline installation. For all water supply and drainage systems that require pressure testing, a pressure testing package must be prepared. In addition to the documents you mentioned, such as the record of confirmation of pressure testing conditions, non-destructive testing reports, and welding records, these are indeed essential; however, flowcharts, schematic diagrams, records of the installation and removal of temporary blind flanges during pressure testing, and a ledger of pressure gauges that have passed verification should also be included in this package. Only then can it be considered a complete pressure testing kit.
First, whether it is necessary to prepare a set of pressure testing kits according to the process pipelines depends on the attitude of the owner’s supervisor. There is no fixed format for pressure testing packages; it varies from industry to industry. But the core content should be more or less the same.
