In HG/T20583-2020, the restrictions regarding the reinforcing rings specified in the original HG/T20583-2011 have been modified. Containers of Category 3, whose design pressure is 4.0 MPa or higher, are now classified as pressure vessels; the provisions for Category 3 have been removed. Why is this? If the equipment diameter is very small, but the design pressure exceeds 4 MPa and the shell wall thickness is thin, cannot reinforcement rings be used either? If not, please indicate the source or reason.
The main usage restrictions regarding the use of ring reinforcement for filling are as follows: 1. The filling depth must comply with specified standards; any significant deviation can affect the quality of the construction. 2. Pay attention to the height of the fasteners; rebar must not be placed inside the concrete reinforcement ring, nor should the steel plate be punctured. If the length of the rebar exceeds the depth of the concrete reinforcement ring, safety caps and shims must be used for securing it. 3. For profiles, the center distance between the reinforcement rings must not be less than 50 mm to avoid affecting surface flatness. 4. Sharp-head bolts should be used; the use of low-strength bolts is prohibited. 5. The diameter of the holes in the load-bearing surfaces of components for which concrete reinforcement rings are used must comply with specified standards; it should neither be too large nor too small, so as not to affect the construction quality. 6. The strength of the concrete and mortar used for filling must meet the specified requirements and shall not be lower than the preset values, in order to ensure construction quality. 7. The flatness of the reinforcement rings must meet the specified requirements to avoid affecting the bonding strength and compressive strength between the concrete reinforcement rings. -

This is because when the design pressure of a vessel exceeds 4.0 MPa, it no longer meets the requirements for Class III vessels and should be classified as a pressure vessel. If the equipment has a very small diameter but a design pressure exceeding 4 MPa, and the wall thickness of the cylinder is thin, reinforcing rings can still be used, but it is necessary to comply with the usage restrictions specified in HG/T20583-2020 to avoid installation-related quality issues. -

The equipment has a very small diameter, but its design pressure exceeds 4 MPa; the wall thickness of the cylinder is thin, so reinforcement rings can be used, provided that their use does not affect the container’s safety, sealing performance, service life, nor the quality of the reinforcement ring installation. The regulations for Category 3 have been removed; why is that? Not all containers with a design pressure exceeding 4 MPa fall into category three; such a regulation provides greater safety ; If the equipment diameter is very small, but the design pressure exceeds 4 MPa and the shell wall thickness is thin, cannot reinforcement rings be used either?
