Is the manufacturer’s design certificate no longer useful?

Our company currently holds D-class certificates for both manufacturing and design. I’ve heard that it will become very difficult to obtain design-related certifications in the future. If the company decides to give up its design certificate, will we designers lose our jobs?
That’s not the case; manufacturing plants only design products that are identical to those produced by their own company. There are many requirements for improving the external design.

For the drawings used internally in the factory, it remains the same as before; the only difference is that they want a slightly different design for external use. Overall, however, it’s still the same as before. Our company will not carry out external design work, no matter how much money is offered – we can’t afford to bother with that for just a couple thousand dollars
