Operating temperature: -38 to 40. The medium is compressed air. Does a pressure vessel made of 16MnDR material require overall heat treatment after welding?
When the operating temperature of pressure vessels is below -20 degrees Celsius, overall post-weld heat treatment is usually required to improve the toughness and impact resistance of the material. This is especially true for operating temperatures ranging from -38 to -40 degrees Celsius, in order to ensure safety. Therefore, pressure vessels made of 16MnDR material in such low-temperature operating environments should undergo post-welding full heat treatment. .
Take a look at the design drawings. . This is not particularly obvious; heat treatment is required.
According to Table 5 of Clause 8.2.2.1 in GB/T 150.4-2011, for 16MnDR pressure vessels, heat treatment is required when the shell thickness is greater than 25 mm; otherwise, it is not necessary.

Perhaps it would be advisable to set the design temperature at -45 and use 15MnNiNbDR with a low-temperature limit of -50, or else use austenitic stainless steel that is impact-resistant and has undergone heat treatment.
As required by 8.2.2 in GB150.4, it is not necessary
