Recently, the Refining and Chemicals Branch of Lanshi Heavy Equipment successfully completed the manufacturing and delivery of 2 OCP (olefin cracking) reactors for the methanol-to-olefins unit in Guangxi Hua Yi Energy Chemical Co., Ltd.’s integrated methanol-to-olefins and downstream processing project. Using methanol as the main raw material, this project aims to further extend the industrial chain by constructing facilities for the production of olefins from methanol with an annual capacity of 1 million tons, a vinyl acetate plant with an annual capacity of 300,000 tons, and 2 × 200,000-ton/year batch and tubular tail-process EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer) plants, in order to produce ethylene, propylene, vinyl acetate, and EVA. The 2 OCP reactors in this project are key equipment in the 1 million tons per year methanol-to-olefins plant; they have a diameter of 2.4 meters, a total length of 13 meters, and are made of stainless steel. They utilize the UOP (Universal Oil Products) MTO (Methanol-to-Olefins) process, which requires high standards regarding design temperature, internal component dimensions, and manufacturing quality.
