Thought question 7: What are the technical requirements for flange splicing, and is there a limit on the number of joints?
Honestly, basic manual skills are really all that’s needed for this. It is truly very necessary to be thorough if you really want to pay attention to details. Some of those that have been processed can be inspected from the side; some are castings, and measuring them is really a hassle. Fortunately, most of the castings are flanges of low grade.
ut, rt, mt, pt, heat treatment, etc. – all need to be considered to see if they are involved
Splicing should be considered carefully; high temperatures, high pressures, and large diameters can all cause problems
