Dear experts, I’ve encountered a device whose head has had its heat treatment condition compromised; therefore, heat treatment is required to restore its properties after molding. The design requirements specify that the head should have maximum and minimum simulated post-welding heat treatment specimens. I saw in GB150, Part 4, 9.1.2.7, that welding test plates can be used as substitutes. So I would like to ask whether the simulated post-welding heat treatment specimens for the head can be used in place of the base material test plates?
