2017 is coming to an end, with a wide variety of heat exchangers available. Based on my personal business statistics, I have focused on two main categories: 1. Shell-and-tube type: a cylindrical shell with tubes inside it. (1) This type of heat exchanger holds a market share of around 50%, remaining the mainstream in the market and ranking first ; (2) The market share declined by 10% in 2017, one of the reasons being competition from other types of heat exchangers. 2. Box type: Rectangular housing, with tubes inside as well. (1) This type of heat exchanger holds a market share of around 30%, ranking second ; (2) The market share increased by 5% in 2017, due to the significant rise in energy conservation and emission reduction efforts, as well as in gas treatment. Gas treatment processes (such as those involving flue gases) involve large volumes of gas, making such heat exchangers suitable for these applications.

We still focus mainly on the design of shell-and-tube heat exchangers; square shells have not been addressed. How widely is it used in the market now?

This post was last edited by wiseboy on 2017-10-24 08:45. The plate-type system ranks second overall, but its total share in 2017 declined slightly, as this type of system is not effective for dealing with dust-containing gases in flue gas treatment (for energy conservation and emission reduction).
Tubular types are still more common; in the field of advanced processing of liquefied gas, only tubular types can be seen
Advanced processing of liquefied gas is just the tip of the iceberg. Tubular heat exchangers account for 50-60% of the market.

With the same 86 square meters, different geometric structures result in vastly different performance – as the saying goes: one 86-square-meter space is not like another.
