As shown in the figure above, for the cross-sectional area of the split diaphragm here, does the thickness direction refer to the thickness of its main body, or rather to the thickness of the part that comes into contact with the gasket, that is, the thickness after it has been thinned?
The value entered should be the thickness of the partition after it has been thinned. I did some calculations using a heat exchanger from a previous design, and it seems that it is only related to the area, not to the thickness. The area is used to calculate the minimum gasket compression force required for both the pre-tensioned and operational states of the gasket. Simply put, it’s equivalent to the area of the gasket plus the area of the gasket in the partition groove.
