The shell side carries the condensate water from each heat exchanger, along with supplementary softened water, while the tube side contains circulating water. I thought the shell side would be cleaner than the tube side, but when we carried out the core extraction today, it turned out to be the opposite. What do people think that yellow thing is? Why are there so many of them? What are the solutions? Thank you.
It feels like sludge. . . Flush it down with a high-pressure water gun
It seems to be a mixture of water rust and sludge residues; checking the source of the shell-side fluid will clarify things
The main thing is to check which processes the water in the shell side comes from; if it’s too dirty, it’s better to apply some simple pre-filtering treatment first
The main sources of water in the shell side are the condensate water from various heat exchangers and the softened water from water treatment processes. The water in the shell side is primarily used as cooling water for various pumps (it is not discharged outside but is recycled) as well as for air cooling.
It is suspected that water rust and dirt resulting from corrosion in various condensate pipes have accumulated in this heat exchanger
