The heat exchanger industry, just like equipment manufacturing, consists of two main aspects: design and production. For a long time, design has been the exclusive domain of large manufacturing enterprises and design institutes; small and medium-sized enterprises lack design capabilities and rely heavily on these institutions as well as external experts, seeking help whenever needed. This results in low efficiency and high costs, putting them in a very disadvantaged position in today’s competitive market environment. In recent years, with the development of intelligent heat exchanger design software, this situation has begun to change, yielding impressive results. In 2018 alone, 6 small and medium-sized heat exchanger manufacturers with limited technical capabilities and no expertise in thermal design managed to enter the field of thermal design for heat exchangers thanks to intelligent design technologies, achieving excellent economic benefits right away. Minimal manpower involvement, low financial investment, and rapid ability to get up to speed are the characteristics of intelligent thermal design.
