In GB/T151, why are there specified formulas for the calculation of spherical dome heads under the tube side pressure (internal pressure), while formulas from GB/T150 are used under the shell side pressure (external pressure)? Can both use the formulas from GB/T150?
The stress conditions meet various operating scenarios!
What I mean is, under the pressure of the pipe gland (internal pressure), can we use the formula from GB/T150 instead of the one in GB/T151?
I know that internal and external pressure calculations are required; what’s being discussed now is the issue of choosing the appropriate formulas.
In actual design, I perform calculations using the formulas in GB/T 151, and then conduct verifications using the corresponding formulas in GB 150, for reference only.
