A biopharmaceutical research institute is primarily engaged in the production, research and development, and distribution of biopharmaceutical products. In its central air conditioning and chiller circulating cooling water systems, the circulating water becomes increasingly concentrated over time, with a hardness level exceeding 600 mg/l; this leads to scaling in the heat exchangers, severely affecting the normal operation of the equipment. To address the issue of scaling, regular chemical cleaning is primarily used. Frequent acid cleaning not only requires significant labor and financial resources but can also cause acid corrosion to the heat exchanger itself, reducing its service life. After thorough research and evaluation of the technical performance of the Jingyuan broad-spectrum sensing water treatment system, 3 sets were installed on October 9, 2011, in the supply pipes for the central air conditioning and chiller circulating water in Room 3#; one of these pipes was of DN250 diameter and two were of DN200 diameter. Since its installation, the system has operated with stable pressure and flow rates, and the inlet and outlet temperatures of the condenser and heat exchanger have also remained stable. After 7 months of operation, when the heat exchanger was opened on the morning of May 12, 2012, it was found that the copper tube bundle of the heat exchanger was clean, with only some soft scale present; this scale could be removed by touching it with a finger. Experience in use has shown that the Jingyuan broad-spectrum sensing water treatment device performs very well in air-conditioning cooling systems as well as in the circulating cooling water systems of refrigerators, making it suitable for adoption across the industry.
